I received my order of ACF-50 today. I spoke to a full time Steadicam op the other day who told me not to concentrate on one area. Just spray the stuff into all the nooks and crannies where there was the possibility of any noise. So I did.

I did a marathon practice session afterwards with two outcomes. The first is that I think I have sussed out where my walkiness and motion surging is coming from. The second is that the arm is making much, much less noise on slow booms. The sound hasn't gone completely, but it maybe as I use it a lot more it will get quieter. It is certainly a lot better than it was, and since the addition of the ACF-50 it also feels much smoother too. I'm going to keep using it for a while to see if the sound goes completely before I update my website review.

Glad to see everything is working out for you. The ACF - 50 seems to be a popular brand amoung operators.

I really do need to sort out a donkey box and junction box next. No idea where to start. I can solder, but I've no idea about designing electrics, especially when my gear might blow up as a result! I'll start a separate thread about it in the sled section.
