I think it is Atonement yes. I haven't seen the film myself though.

I'd love to know how such shots are planned logistically.

I have that take saved--don't remember where it was posted about a year ago.  The little I know is that some vehicles were used--golf carts.  That's a long take to haul a rig while walking on sand.  Not a bad movie either.

Yeah! Totally agree. On sand that thing can weight a ton. But remember the Adidas commercial? Wink Funny too. The clip is in the Screen Room III forum as a sticky.
