My name is Tom Bohan, and I'm in the process of setting up a small production/post-production company in Manchester by the name of Renegade Films, working on small independant films and music videos. Had some work on television already, and hoping there's going to be plenty more where that came from.
Stabilizer-wise, I just got my hands on a Flycam 6000 and I thought I'd join in the fun!
Still getting to grips with it at the moment, and all seems well so far, although I'm sure within the week I'll be asking you all for help!
Looking forward to discussing all things steadicam with you all.
Welcome aboard Tom. Glad u could join in the fun as u so eloquantly put it. Ha ha. It seems many are buying the flycam these days. It seems to be a popular system. Well, I am sure the Flycam experts will be willing to assist u in your questions.
Welcome!! Since you have a 6000 system, make sure you do all the little mods/treaks that are suggested in the modifications forum as they make a HUGE difference to how the rig handles!! The engineering is adequate but certainly not brilliant so you do need to do lots of simple tweaks to get the rig to behave.
If you discover a couple of things that us other mere mortals have missed then let us know!!
Welcome Tom! Glad to another member with a flycam. Feel free to check out my review and mods for teh flycam 6000. I'm no guru but have made many mods that, have at least, improved my rig.
