Maybe you have heard of the elphel digital cinema camera already. It's a project to create an open source digital cinema camera based on elphel. We are searching contributors for this project who can help with: mechanicals to build rigs and shells and prototypes. electronic engineers. programmers (web-programming skills needed). designers. If you know anyone who can push this foreward or are interested yourself: contribute and join this fantastic dream camera. And finally: Advertisers for it. Talk about it.
The current bottleneck is the sensor. Most promising up seems to be the Panavision Dynamax 35, a 37mpx sensor which will be mass-produced end of 2009.
Everyone who could provide inputs/feedback/suggestions is welcome not just technical skilled people. We need enough users to get this done. Apart from that full-frame sensor for third partie producers, but it should come soon.
It already shots RAW and everything can be manually controlled.

Thanks for joining the project Konstantinos. This is looking pretty good. I'm not sure yet if we shall go 2 or 4 rods with it. Do you have access to CNC machines?
