when you're crying because you cat is dead My mother found it (it was a female) nearly the Epiphany day at the begining of this year. She was mewing in front of our house door, so from this day she stayed with us. She wandered a lot around, inside and outside our properity, up and down to the roof, waiting for the neighbour kids when they came out of the school, but in the end she always returned to us at night. I know it sound stupid... i think only those that got a domestic animals can fully understand how i feel... it became part of your family as much as you brother, sister or son. The problem is that we live a few meters away from a very trafficated street so this was almost inevitable. Yesterday night she did not return. You might not exatly know what happened but you can feel it...

Nothing stupid about it. There are many guys who share your pain. Especially when mans best friend kicks the bucket. Animals are our friends too. No animal should be treated with disrespect. My humble condolence.

The bond between us and our pets is the best expression of our character. Years ago, I bought a Labrador Springer mix in a pet store for 7 dollars. I could hold her in the palm of my hand. She became part of our family and especially attached to me. If I layed on the floor in front of the fireplace to take a nap, she would lay beside me with her head across my neck to protect me. She was funny and loving and a real comfort when my wife died. Two months after that difficult time, her kidneys failed--she was 15 years old-- and I had to put her to sleep, I stayed with her when they gave her the shot and I cried over that dog from the depths of my soul. They give so much more than they get. I feel your sorrow, Michele. Orson Welles--who loved animals--once said "There is a contract between man and the animals and the men get the most and the animals the least."

Yes, been there. Sad thing is we lost our calico cat right after my wifes mother and my mother both passed away from cancer. I had to be the one who buried my kitty and that was when I broke down. Its tough.

Well, thanx for the support guys!
My mother was really sad, because she was the one that found the cat. Well, my sister was sad also and sunday (i was in Parma all the day for a show with my group of flagmen) when i returned home i found a new puppy!
My sister's friend brought a small dog as a gift, is so little that has fear of everything and can't even walk correctly!
I must say that i like more cats than dogs, but in the same way a year ago i did'nt like both species in particular is prbably a question of time.
