Wedding Videographer needs advice
« on: August 12, 2008, 08:44:38 AM »

My main gigs these days are weddings and am looking into to the stabilizer route but not sure if its overkill for weddings.  I know it will provide great footage but i dont want to walk into a wedding looking like a special effects guru from LA.  But i have a Canon XL2 and was wondering what the better (not most expense) system there is for my current equipment. I have the stabilizer 2000 but my camera seems too heavy for that and my arm get tired quickly. I am thinking more of a vest type system thats not too bulky. Thanks for any advice!

Hi there and welcome to HBS. Smiley Well, honestly speaking there are many videographers that are using the stabilizer setup for their wedding videos. Their customer seem to love the output because it gives them that Hollywood-look in their videos. Some do not. So I guess it is a matter of preference but it usually helps to have a demo to show. But honestly speaking, a tripod is basically an ideal equipment to use. Smiley
