Better late than never Mike. I appreciate you taking the time to contribute your views. The idea you pitch sounds interesting. Maybe you can continue this particular topic in the appropriate forum and hope others jump in to cast their thoughts.

I don't think anyone in particular jumps out, because unusually for forums like this, it's a civilised place where peopl don't seem to bragg about what they built, or are designing.
I've seen some really grim, chunky, horrible designs and some elegant, marketable ones and nobody is negative about the bad ones - which encourages people to contribute. I keep thinking, yes - I will have a go, then somebody reveals problems so I step back, then go foward again. Great!
Some of the links asking for help are so honest in their desire for feedback and they get it - good and bad. The mechanical engineering standard from some people is incredibly high - yet people with real lash ups that work are still appreciated.
I don't post much, but I'm an avid reader.
Thanks Paul

A well deserved observation Paul. With only 4 post from you, you seemed well read... Thanks for your thoughts.

1. Ones my colleagues chit-charted about new film production and drooped the word. So, I googled about Steadicam and one of the first things appeared - was Patrick Moore´s rig. Very first impression was:"Wow! Is it possible to build such machine home?!" That´s how I turned to HBS site first time. 2. What i like most here? - Chance to share all ideas: from advanced to generously naive, - kindness and respect to each outher (they are great ground for creation), - HBS convincing many people: everything is possible, just try, try and try again. 3. More frequently I visit Andreas Klejb´s and Michael Thonfors´s publications, but each time I open HBS, I meet fantastic inventors here. With the best regards - Vladi.

I'm still new here so I don't really know any of the members. This site has given me the inspiration to push forward with building my rig; and I'm sure had I not come across this site my dreams of owning a rig would have remained on the wayside. Charles thank you for your kindness. One of the really nice things is that no one here seems unduly judgemental about members designs; be it a Home Depot Special to those who can machine their own parts. I'm impressed with the professionalism, skills and generosity of this sites members. Thanks to everyone that makes this site possible. Keep it goin' Charles!

1. Which members have influence your stay here on HBS?
Charles, Seth, Andrea
2. What you like most about HBS?
A lot of friendly people giving good advice :-) And of course all the pictures and diagrams
3. What systems do you come to see more often when you visit both the HBS Website & Forums?
The one of Seth gets most of my hits as I like his design. I've been planning to start on my rig and I'm almost starting out (first need to finish the renovation of my house)

3. What systems do you come to see more often when you visit both the HBS Website & Forums? 1. Actually all members, but especially - Job Scholtze (Glidecam-Operator - Glidecam is great ; The Gold-system is my favorite) - Charles Papert (Scrubs is just awesome - great steadycam work) 2. The community and watching other (well done) homemade steadycams 3. Homemade steadycams (but actually i dont really understand the question, sorry... )

Thanks for your thoughts Florian. For the third one I simply meant which systems here on HBS has inspired your return to HBS?
