Salute from Denmark! It is great to be here with knights of the HBS.
I am a teacher in acting school with the itch to make things. So, my new hobby is the camera supporting systems. Here are some pictures with my first square arm tryout, but soon Iīll begin the round one based on 50x5 mm extruded tubes.
With the best regards - Vladimir.

Congrats on your build. One questionI have for you. Why have you decided to put the gimbal locking handle above the gimbal?

Hey Charles,
Is there an issue with that? I'm gonna do that for my Gimbal so the weight of the sled is pushing down onto my clamp instead of the clamp being pushed from the bottom.

Hi David. Well, the issues I see would be: 1. Obstruction between the stage the gimbal. Especially when it comes to adjusting the gimbal when balancing the system. 2. Depending on the weight of the camera and equipment you are going to use at any given event might put the gimbal in a position of not having sufficient space to raise the gimbalcloser to the stage. 3. And the first and formost Reason...is that when it comes to operating the rig your hand will have to be placed just below the CG, which should be just below the gimbal. Looking at the sled your hand will be obstructing the sled itself putting external movement on the rig, where it is not suppose to be. I could be wrong here but show us the whole sled will you, Vladimir

This is a nice looking rig. Good work. As to the clamp, my first sled used a smilar clamp in a similar position to adjust the post to the gimbal, so it will work. But it is much better to have it at the base of the gimbal--at least I think so.

Dear Charles and Phil! Yes it is really uncomfortable to balance system. There are two tubes and locks - above and under the main bearing. I do not have possibility to use machines but home tools. So alu rubbish collecting gave some ideas some parts did suit. Thatīs how did it come. Anyway, Iīd like to build a classic one and looking for possibility to mill e.t.c.. Sledīs base is also the casual thing. There are some pictures below. One day I gonna turn base into something like Baer Bellīs light or like Slidemanīs pro. Gentlemen thank You both for advises and nice words. Vladi.

I like that you added an adjustment for dynamic balance for the sled...hope you add one for the monitor side of the sled as well...

Good idea. I just doubt about sleds overweight against such weak arm. Actually "Pilotīs" base with couple of Merlinlike weights would be interesting. Here I think about aluminium scooters steering handlebar upsidedown. Vladi.

Idea with weights will wait until Iīll find broken scooter and try to turn ones handl into Pilotlike base. Thank You for impulse.
