Hello From England
« on: June 11, 2008, 07:18:52 PM »

As a newbe to this site I only found you buy accident when looking for some info on the mystical art of setting up the stablizer i have just bought from India (now theres a clue) yes its the Magic arm and vest + the flycam 6000, as a wedding videographer for some time now I have reached the point where I want my videos to incorporate some smoothe moving shots, after looking at some stuff on utube I decided to bite the bullet and finances being a bit tight decided on the above kit, the instructions are a bit sketchy to say the least but due to searchimg via google found out about drop times and dynamic balancing and other things relating to this black art (or so it seems) I am still looking for some advice on how to set up the tension on the arm itself via the two alan screws, the camera I am using is the Canon xl1s the type of arm is the Indicator arm it is the same as the Magic arm but both the upper and lower arm have slots in them with pointers on a graduated scale. when loaded should the lower part of the arm be level and the other part pointing upward it seems that to get it to smooth out the bumps and float smoothly this part of the setup must be spot on. I would be grateful for any help many thanks. mick
