Looking for someone to mill for me / alternatively buy someones diy arm + vest
« on: March 25, 2008, 07:45:08 AM »

Is there someone, preferably in sweden that wants some little extra
pocketmoney and help a fellow extra-arm guy =)

Had a cnc-guy setup for this, but suddenly it was too hard for him
and all that mattered was the cost of material (which = less cost = more money left for him)
And that resultet in him doing designs of his own, which noone in here would even think of =D

Small little overview of tha parts

Im willing to pay nothing to anything.  (Just to say, I dont have an exact budget)

I just need to see what finnish and so on the person can do.

So if you have a offer, hit me =)

I might consider to give a shameful offer if someone would happen to have a spare vest and arm to fit.  $500-700
But its a really shameful offer, and I rather build my own =)

I'm in the same boat, I'd like to get a system close to the flycam in price, but closer to the flyer in quality, if the scale slides higher in price for higher in quality; seems a worthy trade. ...but thats an interesting question: how good can someone machine these and how much would you appraise a home-milled rig for?)

I think everyone wants exactly what you what my friend. Smiley A system that will do what the flyer arm can do will only be a complete copy cat version. Or even better a cheaper version of a GPI pro. -now that would be something else but the fact is, you won't find it for anywhere cheaper than the Chinese knock- off version. They are practically the only ones that have blatantly copied the G-70 and/or flyer version of the arm. Even that is not really cheap. If you know a good machinist then it is no problem replicating a similiar arm. I know machinist that can do exactly the same thing. There is no trick except the experience of the individual. But you have to remember, time is money, so it will cost unless you can make a good deal with him.
There is a member here, Seth, I think, who has done a darn fine job machining his arm, get this, without a real CNC machined. THe catch is, he a machinist with a darn fine talent. Nothing is impossible.
