Global Media Pro Batteries
« on: February 24, 2008, 05:15:43 AM »

Hey All ... I have just bought a highly modified / customised EFP rig with a Steadyrig battery hanger and the batteries question has come up.

Just wondering wether anyone out there had any experience with Global Media Pro and their battery systems? (http://www.globalmediapro.com/do/category/gmpbatcha)
I am looking at their Gold Mount 65wh and 95wh Lithium Ion batteries and their 4 bank charger. They look great on paper, especially price wise, but yeah wondered if anyone has used or currently uses any of this gear.

Thanks alot, look forward to reading responses.

Thanks Charles, will post some photos when i get the rig.

Its currently with the electronics guy. We are taking all the EFP electronics out and making it fully Pro compatable. Im thinking of putting an 8inch Boland high def monitor on it as well. As i said its got the Steadyrig batt hanger which makes for great Dynamic Balance All this means is as the rig pays for itself, i can change the Post, Gimble or Topstage when ever i want to. It also means its completley compatable with  our other Pro2rig, and parts are fully interchangable. Its gonna be a great running rig for light weight stuff.

Ive got an EFP arm with Hugo's silver springs, and Im trying to get onto Walter Klassen about getting a 2nd hand BM vest. Will hopefully have the rig in around a month!

look like the china made batteries we have. the only different i see is the sticker. we have been using it for the past three years or so. no problem. normal usage on a panasonic dvc200 camera will last for abt 4 to 5 hours. charging time is about 8 hours with their charger - cant use the anton charger. its very light. oso, it will not work with a portable light together with camera running. hope this answer some of your question. good luck.

Surely the ability to use a secondary 12v device depends on whether th base is a genuine Anton Bauer with the power-tap, which I believe only genuine bases have?

How would the battery dictate that?

I am seriously interested in these bateries. Any more feedback anyone?

Thanks

Hey guys, no pics of the sled as yet. Still working on it all and putting it together properly. Had a couple of little electronic hitches but its not far away now. Just got a Pro DB2 for it as well.

For more info on the arms and springs etc, check out http://www.steadyrig.com/ - Hugo's website.

Havent bought the batteries as yet, as Im set with some older Anton Bauer ones for the moment.
