This is an old favorite of mine. I hadn't seen it in ages, but vaguely remembered what I would now recognize as a Steadicam shot. So I pulled out my dusty VHS copy last night.
I was delighted to see that there are quite a few very nicely designed and executed Steadicam shots. And although no operators are credited on IMDb, the end credits name no less than four operators: Chris Squires, Elizabeth Zeigler, Ricardo Gale, and Jeff Mart, with Paul Taylor listed as an assistant.
The movie itself might fall into love-it-or-hate-it territory. It's marred by a few weak performances and some plot points that may be difficult to swallow, but overall it is a very intense and well-executed story, with wonderful cinematography and masterful editing.
