...a home built stabilizer, I would think, becomes an extension of the operator who built it. Home built is something more than just a purchased product. -Tim

After seeing Seth's work I am nore convinced that HB rigs can equal professional ones...again, only at this level.

All the commercial rigs are kind of home built as they make so few of them, unless you count building the monitor, but there are many commercially available today unlike in the old days.
I think one should build a rig to improve on what is available elsewhere rather than to just save money, at least that was my approach.
I have owned the Model II, III, IIIa, and PRO 1.5 and my HB is the best of them all for the kinds of work I do.

Not bad everyone. Done right with care a rig can be equivalent to a commercial system. As we already know from those who have HB rigs in professional field.

My 2 cents.
I think that everybody with skills can build a rig.
The professional look is extremely related to the need of the operator.
Here on HBS, I've seen a lot of good rigs.
I repeat, My 2 Cents.

Very true Frank. Look at Carter & Seth, both are amazing machinist. Their work put some manufactures to shame. I'll say it again. IT can be done. We have many prove here on this board.
