Brad,
Thanks. As for using the LED's I have found them to give a blueish tint to the light. These tubes are a soft white.
As for time the last I am doing a battery test right now. I built this light on Friday 4/13/2007 and it took about 2 hours to build with painting the reflector.
I found that every light I have built in the past works alot better with a reflector behind it to send as much light to your subject.
I made this light for a buddy of mine that shoots weddings. He told me that most of the places he shoots get dark for him camera. So I built this as a test. As for video footage from this light I will be posting some as soon as I cam get some from him. He did tell me that the bateries I gave him lasted for the entire shoot.
Tha batteries are
Gel type batteries are 12 volts with 2000 milliamp/hour rating.
As for the lights they only draw about 0.7 amps of power at 12 volts.
These light do not dim yet! As with this light only 2 days old I haven't had alot of time to play with them to find out just waht they can and can't do.
I just got them back from my buddy today. So I will be doing alot of tests on them.
As for getting into led's, I have a bunch of prototypes I have made with LED. WHen they get ride of the bluish tint and make them brigher then maybe I will go back into making a led light.
Well thanks for the reply and as soon as I know more about these lights I will post the results.
Thank,
Mike Bernstein
