The arm are not iso-elastic. A mistake has slipped in here from the bulgarian-english translator. Sorry for that. I have already fix it.

That tilt-stage is in violation of a patent held by Jerry Holway

It is certainly a good copy, but I believe the Holway patent is US only. Chroziel sells something similar in Europe.

I can't tell you how many people have seen my rig and suggested that I make more and sell them. I'm sure we all hear that. I suspect this is one way these new companies pop up.
But I just don't get it. Why? Why would you devote your energy to something that has zero originality? Where is the satisfaction in that? Who cares if it works, of course it's going to work, it's an exact copy of the same idea that all the others are based upon. My rig is an exact copy as well, but I'm not pretending I came up with anything original, and I'm certainly not going into the business of building more under that pretense.
Amongst HBS users, it's different. We're all at various levels of "casual" or "enthusiast", and any patent violations (my hand is raised right now) are understood to be a relatively harmless exploration of design, mechanics, machining, physics, etc. This is a community, and these things constitute our common ground. What I'm decrying is the concept of an independent company with a website, selling product that is based entirely on the ideas of others, without advancing the art through innovation. Maybe not illegal, maybe not unethical. Just lame.
And I would be very curious to know what Bulgarian term translated into "iso-elastic" automatically.

In the course of development, each one of us explore the device made before. We are on the road to finish that period. Now we work on new models, with new design, and some innovations, but they won’t be ready to the end of this year.
You say, that slideman look like other products. The rest don’t look the same?
The problem with iso-elastic appear because, when we make the translation, we verify the term with other producers, and instead of “dual articulated arms”, we place “iso-elastic arms". And I don’t uderstand what is the problem, after I correct the term. Did you never make a mistakes.

Alan, it's all a matter of money. If I had a machine shop, and a good design I would do the same thing because I would enjoy it, and would rather do that than punch into a time clock every day. I think as far as something being original, it probably ain't gonna happen. What these companies are doing is making these things more affordable and a little cheaper in quality to give those of us with less income the chance to fly like the big boys. And let's be real about this, I would never knock on Tiffen products.... but with the machining equipment they have, and their caliber of parts they use, you can't honestly tell me that it cost them that much money that they need to charge you $60,000 for a piece of equipment. They charge you that much money because of their constant research and development for something better and the fact that they are known as the best in the biz. It's just like when you go to the store to buy toilet paper, you are either one of those people that always buy the same brand no matter what the cost, or you buy something similar but cheaper in price because you have to. You never know, some high caliber steadicam operator might just test their's out and decide to endorse it and be their spokesperson (If they pay him well) It's all about money, nothing else.

Dude, you can say whatever you want about Leigh his design. But AT LEAST its original, and not just a copy. Its so much easier to copy somebody's design, like you guys do. So hats of for leigh for being innovative, and zero respect for your design
