this picture was in a local magazine. I wonder wat the 'thing' is on the cameraguy's back. If it's meant to stibilize the camera, could anyone tell me the name of this.

That's funny, he's wearing the "easy rig", but he is holding the camera on his shoulder!

Hi Jay. What you don't see is the core that is supporting the the camera. So it's there but the pic isn't clear. Smiley

Charles,

I thought the guy with the pole (mic boom) had a cord attached to it and was holding up the camera. Ha ha.

Sam,

The Easyrig is being used to help with camera weight (in this case) but can also work as a type of stabilization when hanging in front of the operator from the overhead post.  It's an interesting piece of equipment.

Wow, that's a huge camera.  I'm glad the new DV and HDV cameras take such great video now and are a lot smaller.  It used to be that you had to have a huge camera like the one pictured in order to get quality video.

In Belgium these are the normal broadcast cameras.

Thanks for all the replies, looks interesting

but maybe i'll try making it in the future  Roll Eyes

Sam,

It's not age but desire that matters.  OK, money helps.
