MK-V Nexus
« on: October 19, 2006, 05:45:32 PM »

As promised, here it is:

MK-V Nexus

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The MK-V Nexus

I took the time to fly to Manchester to fly and try the MK-V Nexus.
I was picked up from the airport and was taken to MK-V where Howard was waiting for me. We spend about the whole day and i asked asked and asked. I was aiming for the MK-V Lite, but walked out the door with a new MK-V Nexus 4 stage 2 inch.

Here are my experience with the system.

Topstage:
The Chrosziel: What can i say, this is such a great topstage. It locks so easy, is so rigid and easy to finetune. This topstage isnt needing any more comments.

Post:
I took the 2 inch 4 stage post. In the beginning its a strange feeling. It needs less touch than i was used before. Very gentle fingertips is enough. The only thing i don't like is that the 4 stage post is a bit longer, meaning its a little more bottom heavy and that moves your gimbal a little more down. You can also use the 2 stage post, but i want to be able to fly the ar in the future, hence my choice for 4 stage. AND, low mode is for the first time FUN. Still i am unsure what i would like more, 2 or 4. Short or a bit longer.

Gimbal:
Its the new V2 gimbal and it is amazing. Its so easy and smooth. It spins forever, and there are no clicks ore whatever issue. Not much else to say than, it rocks.

Nexus base:

Very modular and extremly nice. I have the 3 battery setup. 2 rear and one front under the monitor. if i change the position the all move. Howard is gonna change it for me, so i can move the front and back seperate.

J-D box:
Also very modular. Tell what kind of electronics you want/need and the make it. i did choose the HD option and the are making it. ( not ready yet ) In the mean time i have the AR electronics.

Overall its the best sled i have ever flown. Extremly rigid, and so easy to stop. Fast moves to a Full Stop, and the sled hangs still.

Now for that AR

Thanks alot Job. It is a really a fantastic system. Howard really did a good job on that gimbal. When I tried it at the IBC it felt good except for the 2" post which I thought felt really weird. I guess I am used to the 1.5" post Smiley I guess with the post that wide it gives it more stability. You seem to have a n awesome system Job. Now you're thinking of getting the AR? Or are you kidding? Wink
Anyhow it was kind of you to post your thoughts here. I appreciate it. Smiley
