Rachael Ray's morning show: 1/2 steadicam
« on: September 28, 2006, 10:45:48 PM »

I like cooking and tivo'd Rachael Ray's morning show yesterday.  Most of the show is shot with a steadicam.  The other half are those stationary/heavy 3-wheel rolling rigs.  Their mixing of the show (camera 1, camera 2, etc.) was not so great.  I caught several views where you would see the steadicam op in front of Rachael.

I am not sure why, but I actually enjoyed watching all the different shots from the steadicam.  Very smooth operation and cool.  I would love that job.  (Plus, you get eat afterwords.)

We have some cooking shows here in Argentina which are made with 100 % steadyshots. And they are really good. To people like us the star is the cameraman. Doesn´t matter the chef  Smiley

Rick Bayless: Mexico, One Plate at a Time. All Steadicam, and a great, relaxing cooking show to watch. High production value. It's on PBS.
