Commercial Jibs, cranes, booms, etc...
« on: September 28, 2006, 08:46:41 PM »

Hello all,

I am developing a jib and trying to prepare a sort of competitive analysis.  I need a list of all commercially available jibs and if possible their respective websites.  I have done as much research as possible through google and now I'm just trying to pick up the stragglers.  I don't suppose some of you could indulge me and rhyme-off as many companies as you know that sell jibs?
Many thanks.

let's not forget the Dykortech Advanta-Jib Lite
the only jib out there with a built-in remote pan/tilt head operated from the rear with a pan handle, see www.dykortech.com. It uses hydraulics and cables

Ian, will your jib be made for sales purposes?

When I started I wanted one purely for my own use for shooting wedding receptions and other events but then I figured that I might as well prepare it for commercial sale at the same time.  I've been redesigning bits of it to be more easily duplicated in large quantities.  I'm the type of person who loves to research and so that's why I've posed questions about commercial systems because the way I figure it, I might as well know both ends of things, the commercially produced way and the homebuilt way.  I have full intention on disclosing everything I've learned and from where...I'd just like to get the thing built first  Smiley  I'm not here to steal information and make money off it.  I'm here because I love learning new things.
