My bookmark takes me to "Under Constuction" screen.  Anyone else have this problem?

Yes! Just when I went to reference the dynamic balancing document! The "HBS Website" button is also "under construction"

Why... this is unacceptable! I demand a full refund!

Seriously, a huge thank you to Charles and everyone else for providing such a fantastic resource.

Well, this is weird, Charles.  If I use my old bookmark, I get Under Contruction.  If I do a search for the site, I can see it and bookmark it.  Is something strange or it is ok?  Actually, it's strange.  It takes me to the "What's new" section not the main page.

Some parts of the site can still be accessed. What you are accessing is probably pages you still have in your web browser cache. Not all of your files get deleted even if you did empty the folder.

To make things easy Phil Wink go to the 'tools' in the menu of your browser. Click on it and you will see a list of alternatives. look at the last line and click on 'Internet alternative'. A window showing different files. The one that will upon clicking on it is the general flick. Click on the delete internet files. Then below that click on 'clean earlier files' button.I don't know if this is what is says, because I'm using the swedish version of windows.

This should empty your folder.

BTW Phil I'm not done updating the site yet.

I don't see anything like that.  There is a cookie manager.

What about 'delete files' button? I think it should be it. If not I'll help you later. Gotta go get some shut eye. Just got in and I'm tired. It's about 3:40 A.M

I use a Mac so I cannot help you find it !

someone out there should be able to help you ( as long as a virus hasn't taken all the windows users out :-)  )
sorry....  I couldn't restrain myself !  Grin

p.s.  if you have never thrown out your cookies beware that if you decide to throw them away you likely will have to fill out your name and password on every one of the sites that you frequent ( inlcuding HBS ).

cheers,

Jake

How to empty your cache (temp internet files)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Internet Explorer for PC
1. In your upper browser toolbar where it says "file edit view favorites tools", click TOOLS
2. Click "internet options"
3. On the general tab, which is the first tab you will see, look in the center where it says "temporary internet files"
4. Click "delete files"
5. Click OK at the bottom of the grey box.

Firefox
1.In your upper browser toolbar where it says "file edit view favorites tools", click TOOLS
2. Click "options"
3. Click on the padlock icon in the left pane for privacy
4. Click on the "clear" button next to "cache"
5. click OK at the bottom of the grey box.

In the newest version of Firefox the privacy icon is at the top and not to the left.

since this is a topic about the update, i was thinking of thwtrowing this in:

Charles: maybe you know, maybe you don't but the 'show unread posts since last visit' function doesn't work. I don't get any posts and there are topics where someone had said something (like this)

hope you can fix this
