Topic: BNC to Component adaptor? (Read 853 times)

I probably sound pretty stupid by asking this...but it's late at night......
I bought the JVC GY HD100 for my rig with the AB Dionic setup. I have an opportunity to do an event on my jib in a couple of weeks, but just noticed an achiles heal of the camera...no bnc outpu. What is the quickest, easiest, simplest way to convert a component output to a single bnc output? (I should know this, as a professional videographer, but my brain isn't quite on right now)..
Anyone know the answer to this?

Component to Composite is hard to do without a special box. You need to get the composite output of the camera, usually the good ol' yellow RCA jack. Then, just plug in an RCA to BNC adaptor, available at any RadioShack. Simple enough!

The "Y" signal of Component (Normaly the Green connector) is actually a Black & White video signal. If you have the component outputs running in SD mode, you can treat the Y output as a B&W composite output and connect it directly to a monitor. You can't see colors obviously, but it can save you in a pinch.

Actually, I found the answer to my question...
To get what I was aiming for, I needed a convertor box, like the one from Blackmagic (HDLink). We had used up every source, and the only way we could accept my camera for the shoot was through an SDI input. Well...shucks...JVC has no SDI ouput. I'll probably invest in a box pretty soon here. But fortunately for me, we found a converter box at my station that we acquired from another station we bought out (we are now a duopoly in our area).
