That would work for you. Lilliput has a good one, too ( www.mp3car.com). Check the specs and make sure you can rig it for 12v battery power. See what mounts it has, too. If it has a mount hole on the bottom, its easy to rig to your sled. Plus, the brightness may not be that great. Compare the brightness specs. You may have to rig a sunshade, which can easily be done with gaff tape, a linoleum floor tile, and some velcro.

I purchase one of the 5.6" Pyle monitors for a Stabilizer I am building for my son. All set for 12v, draws about 500ma. The model I bought is for mounting in a headrest. Comes with both a pedistal and headrest mount. Swivel/tilt mount is plastic (I think I'll chnage that to a home made metal mount). The headrest mount bracket makes it real easy to install a home made LCD shade. Paid $80 including shipping. There are other models, 6.5" and 8" for good prices on eBay.
