Steadicam and Garrett Brown (and my nephew)
« on: March 06, 2006, 10:20:44 PM »

[Edited with stable link]

Interesting find ... take a look ...

My sister sent me a site to view an interview that the Discovery Channel (in Canada) had done on her son, Dennis, that was broadcast on March 3.  See link http://www.exn.ca/dailyplanet/view.asp?date=3/3/2006  , see title "Robo-exterminator".  Dennis, who goes to the Virginia Military Institute, helped create this "tick" finder.  Very interesting robot.

But, while on that site, I noticed another broadcast "Steadicam glory" -- a piece about Garrett Brown -- a little history.  Some little details are given about his inventions.  I learned quite a bit.

Take a look,
Brad

p.s.  Let me know how you can save the video because I'd like to save Dennis' video for my sister.

Nice find! I hadn't seen that before. It has some footage in common with the piece on Garrett's site, but much more updated. I'm sorry I don't have any advice about saving a copy, unless you do a motion screengrab using something like Snaps Pro or RoboDemo.
