I would feel more at ease with it if he had a pic of it with a camera on it, and possibly offered a video clip. But my first impression is that the elbow is going to buckle under the slightest load, and that the sled and vest are ammateur jobs. He's overpriced it by miles. If he took close-up pictures of it, the socket bloach area, and the rest of it... in detail, then I may be convinced otherwise.
Just my opinion.

...and on top of that, I like the word 'iso-elastic' arm Now you know that is definately not true. On top of that this is not a commercial system so I'm moving it to the classifies.

Sorry for posting it in the wrong forum, but as I'm not selling it, I didn't think about posting on classifies. So it doesn't look any good? I just missed a magiqcam or 1k on ebay. Is the magiqcam any good?

No problem Michael. As for the magiqcam you should first read the review Kevin did of the rig in all it's glory. Look in the review forum. Then when you're done check out all the post that has been posted here and on the DVinfo.net forum and see what everyone has to say. Trust me it's been talked about over and over again it's almost tiring. After that then you can read all the bad rep it has been given due to it's customer service which has the worst rep I've ever heard. Well, you be the judge but be fore-warned. ...and on top of that a comment on the DVinfo.net forum had given an explaination to why the owner couldn't answer any e-mails or comments on the forums. He said he was too busy building stabilizers. Well, that was the most riduculous respond if I ever heard one. You would think with all the complaints eveveryone has been having, the guy would at least take a minut or two to give some sort of comfort as to why things are the way they are. Noooo! He doesn't have time. That's BS!!! If you can't take 5 minutes to explain yourself then you definatély don't have time for your customers which is a complete downgrade of a customer service. Sorry but that's how I feel.

I agree with you Charles 100%. I think customer satisfaction should be a small company’s first priority. Especially with a fledgling business like Magicam. Word of mouth and the internet forums is a very important asset for a newbie in this arena. To say that, "the quality is good, but the service sucks!" drives away a lot of prospective buyers as it should.
The thing that really blew me away about the Tiffen folks was their fantastic customer service. And I'm not just saying that. Every time I ever emailed or called Frank Rush he replied within minutes. And it's not that hard to have a big messaging cell phone and responding immediately to a customer. Believe me when a customer has a question and it gets answered immediately they really appreciate it.
Anyway that’s my take on it.

Michael & Charles,
What's your take on the ebay ad Michael Maier is talking about?
My take on this is if you are going to try and sell a system that is not a commercially built system than you should not try to by using words like 'Iso-elastic', and 'full production value' etc in your sales pitch. That's mis-leading the potential buyer. You should try and sell it 'like it is' and 'what it is' It's clearly a homebuilt system. Mind you I'm not saying you shouldn't promote your stuff but do it the right way. By using those words you will give the buyer an almost 100% certainty that your rig classifies itself as being amoung the best and thus expects 100% results. I like beeing upfront from the get go with no room for misconceptions. I do not know the system or know how it performs. The owner should have put up a video of it and not just pictures. If I was interested I would definately want to see a video clip of the rig in action.

I think it looks like a toy. And the photography and positioning of what appears to be a homemade rig spray painted black does not "really" let you see what it looks like. I laughed at the "iso-elastic" part. Very deceptive and false advertising I think. Caveat Emptor. ("Buyer Beware")
Michael
P.S. And who in this business shows a camera stabilizer rig without a 'camera' mounted to it?
