if got another problem building my Steadi with Codys Beginner Book. I could not find the right size of alu for the collar around the bearing here in Germany (1652 bearing). Maybe i must order this part from the states. PLease help me
do you think it's possible that this guy mill one for me, too? I was looking in Germany but nobody could help me. I asked at an university but they are not allowed to use the machines for private pieces.
I think this is what you are talking about. The ring needs to be made to the right specs on the outside and inside diameters on a Lathe first. Next the cross hole you see is drilled thru the part and tapped on a mill. This hole has to be basically centered and "inline" within about .001" of an inch. also if the inside diameter is going to be machined for a "press fit" for the pan bearing it should be held within .0005 on the size. Not an easy task. I can machine the part for you if you're not confortable holding dimensions within +/- .0005" of an inch. (.0127 mm) Let me know if you're interested.
I just noticed you're in El Monte. I was about to begin finding a machine shop in Burbank to do some work for me, but would much rather a person with experience with stabilizers. please shoot me an email if you are interested in discussing some work.
Is this your correct email address or not? I am trying to send you some information but so far no luck. I have sent you hbs messages and repeatedly tried to email you to no avail.
