Camera drawings or a 3D model of one?
« on: February 16, 2006, 03:42:28 PM »

Hi everybody! Smiley

Has anybody modeled a  prosumer or proffesional camera in 3D which you would share with me? Or know where to get a CAD-file of one?
It would be nice to use the 3D model as a reference object when you´re engineering new stuff.

A camera such as ,XM1, XL1 or JVC-GY5000 would be great! Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks! / Rickard

Just a few days ago i've designed an xl2.  Is not finished now, i need to make the viewfinder and some small things... is not too detailed, but the proportions are right.

Here's a generic broadcast camera I made a while back in 3DS max. - It's about DVCAM/DVCPRO/small DigiBeta size.

It's not to any exact scale, and it definatly has some issues, but it looks ok (IMO) for referance stuff.

Sorry no still image, main computer is out of action at the moment. If anyone wants to post a vid-grab, go for it.

If you want I can send you the .max source file.

Here is a small update.  I do not own an xl2, i had only the chance to use it one time....
Main body proportions are right, but i'm not sure about viewfinder and mic proportions.  Tell me what you think.
The model is made with Milkshape 1.72 (a low-poly modeler)
