How in the heck does that thing work? I understand what they are used for in preproduction and in post, but does this type of unit go between the camera and your monitor during production, and if so how ? Don't worry I am in no rush to bid on something I don't see myself using right away. I went way overbudget with a few of my other builds and now I am kinda strapped for cash at the moment.
what this does is just that. Generates a frameline on the monitor. So if you shooting in a specific aspect ratio 1.85, 2.35 etc.. you can frame that in the monitor and crop out the rest in post. These things are usually fairly expensive. A transvideo generator is over $1k but has many more features, like presets and such.
