The Archer at the show didn't have the arm-post friction piece installed. (it was on the Clippers) It lets you set the friction of the arm post so it's free (as it was) or tighter and harder to rotate if you want.

Good to know. I knew there was some tightening option, but thought it would only slow down the re-aligning of the handle. Sounds like you won't have that problem with your new rig.

I chose the Clipper after talking to Jerry. It's weight rating is lower, but after talking to Jerry, I know the rig can handle more. Just need to add more weight to the bottom!

Wait?... The Clipper sled is rated for more then the Archer Sled. - Though you can add weight to them both to up the capacity a little. The Archer will take a lighter camera though. (due to less sled base weight)

DOH! I went to Tiffen's site again and realized you were right Mikko. I flew, and loved the Archer! Apparently, the experience was so fulfilling that I went retarded and forgot which sled was which!
Now, as pennance, I shall go and flog myself with a BNC cable until I feel I have learned my lesson...

..now you are cross posting with Alen's "other highlight"... Well tell you what; you buy the Clipper and then we can trade sleds? What do you think? -Mikko

I think I'll stick with the Archer, which I can't afford, rather than the Clipper, which I can't afford even more! That also wasn't the other highlight. That one's a secret...
