My cellphone is listed in my signature: +358 44 2745817
- from the US, replace the "+" with 011 for direct dial. So from a US phone, my number is 011 358 44 2745817  (everyone remeber that? great!)
It's a Finnish number so it will cost a little more to call, even if I am in the US. But is should work fine in Vegas.

It was however a pleasure to meet many of you there, what a great week! Hope to see you all again soon.  Smiley

Also, a bit of HomeBuilt rig news:
I have sold the Steadicam Player (my Lego rig) to Garrett and Tiffen. It will be on display in the 'Steadicam Museum' at the factory in LA in the near future.  Cool

That's great.  As to the Archer, what were the factors that  influenced your choice?  I envy you!

Why Archer?
G-50, love the stage, G-50, great monitor, and gimble, light, G-50, all the right connectors and HD ready for when I need it, G-50, nice and portable (I travel a lot), built in tally for multicam, G-50, a good upgrade path, and hmm, oh yeah, the arm is nice too.   Wink

You bought a Merlin, too? Does that mean the Marvin was sold as well? And yes, I insist on calling it that! Smiley

Mikko, great meeting you there. Had a lot of fun at the show. Sorry I missed you Wade!

Tried all of the different manufacturer's rigs. The Satchler and GlideCam were nice, but there is a reason the Steadicam is the best. Actually a couple, Garrett and Jerry!

I got to the booth on Thursday morning and who should walk up but Jerry Holway! He and I talked for about 20-30 minutes. I told him I was a home builder, and he went into some theory about the system.

He also told me that a master tape of the EFP video had been found and, hopefully, they will be releasing a DVD version soon! I don't have any pictures as I had no one to take them for me!  Cry

Jerry helped me suit up with the Clipper, gave me some pointers on my technique, and sent me on my way. That was so awesome! It has convinced me that, as much as I like building my own rig, I going to figure out some way to buy a real Steadicam, probably the Clipper.

I agree with Mikko, the G50...WOW! That arm is awesome! The sled is awesome. The vest is awesome. I just need to come up with $30,000...

Brett, I agree. The Clipper was my favorite, too. The Archer was a bit more nimble, but I wasn't fond of the gimbal handle always wanting to be parallel with the adjacent arm section. That made it very hard for me to stay in proper form. I did have one "uh oh" moment in the Clipper, when something in my back fired and I had to dock right away. That was not good, but it has nothing to do with the rig!

Sorry I missed you and Wade there. I left early Thursday morning.
