NAB 2006
« on: January 18, 2006, 11:39:39 PM »

It's not too early to start thinking about it. I know others have. Joe Sanders started his long walk to NAB in late December. How far have you gotten, Joe?

I thought I'd get the ball rolling in a centralized spot. Who's going, and for those who have attended before (or plan to this time), how does this work? Do people typically do the "exhibits only" pass ($150 US)?

Of course there will have to be an HBS get-together. It would be nice to figure out what days people will be there, so we can plan vacations from work and whatnot. If there is someone else that typically organizes this sort of think, by all means I'm not trying to take over anyone's role.

And last but not least ... are you bringing your rigs to show off?! Of course you are. You're super-bad, and you know it.

I want to go. If there is a group of four or more of us going, we can reserve a block of rooms for HBS. I think most everyone does the exhibits only. I want to do some of the conferences, but can only get enough time off to go for a day or two of the exhibits.

I am planning on attending (My school is trying to send me(!)). Though I do not know for certain yet. (Should within the next couple of weeks).

I'd be game for a meeting.

I snagged a "VIP" entry pass code to the exhebition that was posted on another forum.
Linky: http://www.jkaudio.com/upcoming-events.htm

Similar codes should be available elsewhere too.
... No need for that $150

YES!!! Thank you, Mikko. I owe you a tall cold one. (Interpret "one" freely, I'm a Thai iced tea person myself.)

I highly doubt I could go, unless I suddenly convinced my boss to pay for my airfare and hotel. Tongue

Wish I could go, but I highly doubt I'd have the kind of money I need to make it even remotely happen after building my rig. Oh well, Enjoy your time there everybody, and be sure to bring back pics! Smiley

What do you mean by "No matter what else you (we) do; go see the dam" Joe? You're gonna go right? RIGHT?

Just a tip: I registered for NAB using the VIP code that Mikko pointed out, but the registration confirmation ended up in my junk mailbox. I was afraid they rejected my registration because I was cheating! Ha!

So, check those junk mailboxes.

Yeah, I didn't get my first confirmation at all. (even in junk) I think they have a dodgy mailer.

I however went back to the nabshow.com website, logged in and was able to request a re-send of the confirmation which came through just fine Smiley
