I have been waiting for this book w/ anticipation since I placed the order. Well, it finally arrived today & I have probably gone over it several times already. Very will done. There are tons of pics for even a person like myself who hates to read. It is very simple to understand and what the end result will be is a rig w/ a better dynamic balance. I have already started gathering the parts to modify my V-20. Great job Charles, the only thing I can see to add would be a list of where to get the parts from online. Will keep the members updated as we start to modify my rig tmrw. Mahalo, Tracy |

Thank you for that candid review. The point you made about making a list to where one could get the parts should not have been overlooked by me(stupid me).  I quite agree. The only reason for not including one was because I naturally assumed( yeah I know, one should never assume  people would fine the parts themselves, but even that should not justify the exclusion of a list of where to get the parts. For that I do apologies.   I will do a search and make a note of the parts and possible the part-number. Then I will make it into a .pdf and upload it so those that have purchased the book can easily download it free of charge. Another suggestion Tracy. If you do finally get the parts I would much indepted to you if you could make your own list of the parts and possily the parts number and post it here for those who have already bought the book. Wow! thanks for the review Tracy. I'm hoping to get mine on monday and then I can see what needs to be done. About the parts list, if you do collect all the parts it would be great to list them as Charles suggested. If of course, you have the time otherwise I can just wait for Charles. BTW Charles, can I get the parts easily here in Sweden? It will probably not be the same but maybe similiar.  Lars Gustav |

Will do on the parts list Charles. The hard part is figuring out the metric situation. I guess the bolts on the sliding plate are metric so the one to replace the handle "Definitely" needs to be metric. See I have a lot easier time than most because one of our contributors on my motorsports TV show is also a certified welder & works for the largest fabrication company in Hawaii. They do everything from framing huge buildings to ornate decorative fencing. So he gets a lot of scrap. So because of all of the aluminum projects we have he just bought a TIG welder last weekend. Great friend indeed. We always meet on Sun. but he got sick over the week & so no getting to play ( Fabricating ) today. While he's building a big block ' 73 Nova w/ a roll cage, I get to build a matte box. Cool set up. So now I have to bother him during his lunch break this week to get the parts from the new " Good Book " + add ons of my own after seeing what the book has to say. I am used to doing this kind of stuff, having done racing on drag & road racing motorcycles I made a lot of my own parts. Now it's Jibs & camera gear. Anyway I can see Cody's fingerprints all over this book as well. Great job Cody. As soon as I get the list together I will post it for all to see, as well as the mods in progress. No Charles, you are the man too. Cody is really good but that is why we all bought your book. I know one of the problems has been to make the lower sled dynamic on the X & Y planes. I had come up w/ a design but it is NOT something the do it yourselfer can do. It has to be machined & tolerance fitted. I have just read Charles' book on Glidecam Mods. Although it will give great advice to those who have done previous modifications, it's also a great book for beginners. There are plenty of pictures and diagrams, and it starts off with a lengthy chapter on the tools and materials required. Although I have a Glidecam 2000, the info is still perfect for my needs - especially the section on how to create those cool-looking monitor bracket rods.  Thanks again Charles. |
