Best Chargers For Your Rig Batteries
« on: January 16, 2006, 03:04:45 AM »

I've been operating cameras for a while, but still remain a battery/charger novice. I've never had to put together my own battery/charger system, as everything I've used thus far was put together by engineers and chief photog's, but never I.

I've noticed multiple Anton Bauer chargers...some in production and some out of production.... and info on the compatibility on older chargers with current batteries is hard to find.

So here's my question..... I have 4 or 5 Digital Trimpacs. I need a charger now. I've seen the A/B Q2 charger on Ebay, and it looks compatible, but I can't find any info on it. I don't want to have to blow $1000 plus on a Logic/Interactive series charger. The Titan 70 is too steep for me also. Does anyone know if the Q2 charger will work with my Digital Trimpacs? (I'm kind of embarrassed for asking).

Also, I think this is a good place to post any knowledge anyone has on professional (upper end) batteries and chargers. Maybe we should create another heading under "chargers", as we have one already for "batteries". Info on how to incorporate Anton Bauer, PAG, NRG, Frezzi, and other professional power management items into your rig may be good right here.

Any input, anyone???

Wade,

What battery system did you finally get?
