(Thanks, Phil.)

Joe mentions that the spring length is about 11 inches. Is that from hook-to-hook, so to speak? I'm debating internally about how tall I should make my arm bones, and have been looking at the Flyer reference pics. It doesn't look 11 inches long from the photos, but it's hard for me to determine a sense of scale.

Michael, I think there are places that can make a custom spring for you, if you tell them the number of coils, the thickness, etc. I've never done it, but I've heard about it.

Well alan I believe Tiffen buys their springs but it is very possible they have them custom made also. I will investigate that tomorrow. The 11" dimension is definately from hook to hook. I think most of the guys make their bones about 10" long. Then there's the wrist and elbow depth plus any angle the spring may be at if your wondering how you can have 10" bones and an 11" spring.
