Hello;
Merry Christmas Eve everyone.
I Finally received my MagiqCam rig and it was worth the wait. This is not just an upgrade; it is a completely new design. The Aluminum is much thicker; the series III arm is a pretty heavy-duty piece of hardware. The sled has been completely redesigned with a power/video block. The vest now has a socket block instead of a pin. I have only assembled it, I have not tested it. And BTW I am in no way affiliated with Animagique. I will take some photos after Christmas (excuse me...Holliday's) and post them here. Please know that I am an end user, I have 0.0 knowledge about the physics that go into a design like this. I know many of you are very savvy on design characteristics.
Also, in case you haven't already heard, Animagique has folded and a new owner (Nate) now owns it. He has been very professional with me and I feel much better about my purchase. (It just took a while...)
Again, I will post some photos here soon.

Good on you Robert, what a present.
I was going to be a 'distributor' for Magiqcam in Australia, but the delays in getting the product out made me very cautious.
Your new rig will do a fine job and for years to come. enjoy

congrats. I definately want to see their new rig. I'm also curious as to why there is a new owner....mmmm As far as I know john and kelly are still the owner its just thay have a new management team .. Which is good news and means faster times on rigs , replys etc and it makes sense now Animagique is bigger to have others do the leg work.

Happi New Year everyone!
My apologies for the delay of the photos. It has been flooding here lately and I work for the ABC affiliate in Sacramento; so I have been working a lot of hours.
Pardon my haste in taking these photos; some are not in correct aspect. The photos do not show very well the heavier gauge aluminum that is used in the new construction. Obviously the rig is about twice the weight, the vest has been re-designed to compensate. It now incorporates a lumbar support. The front plate feels like a bulletproof vest!
The sled is much more rugged than the first designs. The clamp that locks the sliding gimbal now uses a tool to lock it down, it does not slip like the former design did.
There is now a Donkey box (I think that is what it is called) at the top and bottom of the sled for wiring both Video and Power; fewer holes to drill!
The arm has been re-designed and is also made from much heavier gauge Aluminum. It incorporates dual springs also; I have no idea what this does for performance characteristics. The arm attaches to the vest via a socket block with two tightening screws.
I spoke with John about this new rig; he claims it can handle a full size camera. I intend to use it with my Sony DSR500WS DVCAM camera (My news camera.)
I will get some video up here as soon as I get the rig wired and if it will EVER stop raining here! I am bad enough on a sunny calm day let alone the 60 mph winds we have been having.
Here are a couple pages of photos for you.

Looks very good. Glad to see that they finally have a good socket block and Dynamic Balance going for them. What kind of battery does it use?

Hello;
I am just using an NP-1 to run the monitor. I use the large battery on the HDV camera (for more weieght on top) and I will use the on-camera Dionic battery for the DSR500WS camera.
