Glidecam V-25 availability
« on: December 06, 2005, 09:18:01 AM »

Hi,

does anyone know when the Glidecam V-25 will be available for sale? It looks very attractive, and since I am still waiting (I guess 5 months now) for my MagiqCam rig, I don't know if waiting and buying the V-25 wouldn't be a faster way to get myself to some kind of rig Smiley

Thanks,
Martin

Well, it depends how desperate you want a rig. Is it worth the wait? Personally I would go for the V-25 but it is totally up to you. I think they are already taking orders but I think January is thedate set but not sure.

I agree with Charles. The magicam rig looks cheap. I think the Gildecam would be the better choice.

Hi Guys,

I just received my V25 sled today completing the system(I've had the vest and arm since september) it is simply awesome, I really don't think it can be compared to the magicam rig. Fully machined parts, extremely smooth arm, sled is gorgeous, extremely smooth gimbal, all wired through the post, no tools adjustments, awesome!!!

The official release date for the full V25 system is end of January. If you can wait and can afford it, get the V25...

Hi John,

As someone already suggested in other post, it is unfair to compare US$7,000 to US$2,000 product.

US$7,000 product should challenge US$7,000 product. That is quite simple.

If Glidecam release v25 sold at price US$2,000, then it will be great to compare magicam rig.

Claim: I don't work for magicam or glidecam.

Regards
Leigh

Leigh. No one is comparing both systems side by side. If you read Martin's first post again then you will see why I made that comment. He clearly asked if it was worth waiting and buying the V-25 since all the problems that magiqcam seems to be having. He's been waiting 5 months now for the magiqcam and wondered if he should just forget about that rig and get the V-25. Wink

Hi Leigh, as I said in my post they can't be compared so we agree on that Smiley, but also as charles said the question was should he wait and get a V25 and in that situation I think it's an easy answer if he can afford it and can wait there's no comparison between the two systems.

BTW the V25's first 100 units were selling at $7995 then the price goes to $9995, the last time I heard the first 100 were almost gone so my advice would be to contact glidecam soon if anyone is interested in getting the introductory price.

And I say I can make a $4000 product that's better than all of the above put together.

Since I don't have those overhead costs it's not just easy to say it's a reality. If you don't believe me just wait and see my googly eyed friend.

Hi Job,

What is your camera package weight for your video work? I mean pro35 + lense + camera etc.

TIA
