Topic: Attaching the EMT pipe to the arm ? (Read 1414 times)

I am curious if the brushing is supposed to be threaded in the attachment of the EMT pipe to the arm? Since the bolt is 3/8, and my brushing is 3/8, it would fit, but it would be a bugger to take off and on because I would have to threaded it each time - if it is not a thread, how does it stay with a tight fit ?

To quote the Tick, "Gravity, is a harsh mistress." The weight of the sled holds the sled in place.

Thanks Brett,
Actually your website has been good to me, I usually double check everything with your pictures on it, so thanks! Is the fit from your EMT to the ARM tight?

Once you have the bushing in place, it is fairly tight, but mobile. You can still swivel the arm.
I'm actually thinking about adding a Teflon washer to make that connection smoother.

Try using a longer bolt and cutting the threads off. Then if your bushing has a 3/8" threaded hole, drill out the threads with a 3/8" drill bit.

Ah, I see. I ordered the full threaded bolt, oh well. Iwill have to buy another. Thanks for the replies.

Your full thread bolt will still work. If your bushing is correct it will slide right over it. The bolt and the bushing do not thread together.

I see that now, my original thought was the thread and the bushing thread together, hence I bought a bolt and bushing that would be compatible. Now I have to rethink it is all.
