How I know that his operating still needs some work is that
A. There's still some bounce in his shots (this could be his rig, or this could be his operating, I'm guessing the latter.)
B. He had some earlier issues with panning and framing, though with some help from Papert he sorted those out.
C. He isn't quite there yet on holding frames.

And yes, I saw the link, I just wanted to know which one of the files you were talking about.

Tom,

"I see," said the blind man. I was refering to the one on the top of the list when you first get to the website. It's the one with the oriental music and he appears to be walking around an empty elementry school. Now Tom don't take this as an attack but don't you think that looks smoother than anything you have posted on this forum so far? And don't you think you really shouldn't be judging Liegh until you can do better yourself? All I am saying is you come off like a hypocrite when you make such statements my friend. I am just trying to help you Tom from the bottom of my heart.

Thanks Michael for the praise.

Actually Charles Papert, Mikko Wilson with other steadicam operators and lots of kind person on the internet gave me huge help.  Smiley

BTW, I am just begining. I plan to spend ten years learning the stabilizer. FYI, I just learning the device for about a year now. And everyday I spent an hour practising the stabilizer, I can't spend more time on practising as I work full time as a programmer.

Leigh

Hi Job,

Thanks for the great offer.

Is it possible to watch your background video? It is a pleasure to watch the video you made. But I really love the video shoot you operate the stabilizer which you posted before. Sadly it is just a short clip. I like you put the motion in the music video for singers. And the forward shot you made to move forward towards a boy manipulate the sound switch(sorry that I don't know how to call the device). That is really cool. My shot is too boring.

Regards
Leigh

Hi Job,

The lighting is great in all your demo videos. Will you be kind enough to show me the lighting setup by a short video? What is your f-stop you set to your lense? Any filters in front of your pro35? What lense you are using in front of your pro35? What lense you are using behind your pro35? How you manage to learn to frame the subject? Do you do any post manipluation of the demo video? Sorry too many questions asked. I look forward to your answer. Smiley

TIA

I just watched one of Leigh's videos and enjoyed it very much.  In reference to the above comments regarding his operating, i think it is important to remember that  demos that involve walking shots around objects are really just  practice.  99% of the use of the rig in a fiction film is in following characters and advancing the story.  View some of Cody's clips.  Helpful suggestions are one of the purposes of the forum--being critical really doesn't help because most of us know we need to practice.  In the original Halloween, there is a shot of the camera approaching a house that was shot with a Panaglide.  Quite frankly, it looks like they strapped the rig to a drunken monkey and told it to run to the house.  Did it wreck the movie?  No.  Anyway, nice work, Leigh.  Just wish those files were smaller!
