Yeah, thanks. I just take myself and my posts seriously most of the time, and I understand that you didn't mean anything, but I just can't be too sure, you know what I mean?

Oh brother,

Competition is essential to any free market economy. It encourages quality among manufacturers by providing producers with a choice of camera stabilizers at the best price. Whereas unregulated competition in a free market leads to monopolies and other unfair practices. Just look at the monopoly of computer operating systems. Although I'm really starting to like Linux a lot.

The more Steadi systems that are available, the more choices you have as an artist. The company that offers the most bang for the buck will reign supreme. Innovation and quality at the lowest price is what's best for the independent filmmaker.

So who said the oppossite?
Where in my post do I write something different?
And where do you see bad behavior my friend?

Ok next time I will write what youd like to hear, but still that doesnt change the facts neither makes the goal easier to achieeve.

And now here is again how I define a high end stabiliser.

sled- very thin,very rigid,tools free,no corruption,camera stage.tilt  axis, and all axis motorized(not nessecery)
CF 2 inch 4 stage suoer light rigid  telescopic post.
No friction,100% centered ,isobalanced,no tools,symetrical gimbal.
upper and lower box intelegent electronics,3 bat module. adjustable x,y, possitioning, adjustable battery possitioning.
Adjustable no tooks minitor bracket, 7 inch super bright, tft,or Best green screen.

arm- great high to low range,frictionless,15-70lbs,narrow dimmencion, notools adjustable, small pull push force,
end limit absorver,no corruption, dissassemple on the fly, change of springs on the fly, easy maintence, all rigs and vest compatible titanium springs, titanium socket block.

Vest- CF,BM or CF front mount, size adjustable, hight adjustable, angle adjustable tilt, secure lock rigit  mechanism,no tools adjustments, very light, titanium socket block.Very rigit and anatomically confortable.

thats your goal Leigh.and thats with out the periferical goodos.

If I believe it can be achieeved? Yes I do but from a very experienced team, electronics, mechanics, designer, engineer, and good factory tools. Also an operator with experience and technical knowledge is a must to this team .

take care all, there was no battle anywhere. Smiley

Constantine,

Have you ever seen an arm that could support 15-70 lbs without changing springs?

I’m just guessing but I think they get there because they use a very strong spring close to the bottom of the pivot bracket.

PS Constantine, and any others, would ya’ll please make a comment on my Dynamic Equilibrium thread?

Once again I’m shameless I know.

thats your goal Leigh.

No, my goal is to help most cameraman without spending big money to use my stabilizer to get the similar steadiness shot in one day based on my instruction dvd since they get my rig. That is they buy my rig, watch my dvd, learn the skill in one day and the next day go out to make money.

Here is my video link.

http://www.salenz.com/movie

I will not say the steadiness demo in the video is top, but is acceptable for real life use, i.e. indi movie making, wedding, commercial etc.

Aha now I get it.
So bacicly what you are trying here is to develope a full rig  with decent features simple and affordable for people that dont want to spent  a lot of money to own it and can do some nice shots with it.
Ok totaly agree with you that is a good concept.
In that case all above said is meaningless.
So do it my friend I d like to see your designs and help out.
you can definatly make something like the flyer, have in mind small film cams as well, so many light cams now these days, a-minima, ikonoscop, even 235 is quite light with small lens.
Very curius on this.
You know one day a small and inteligent stabilizer simple and with good quality will break through the market, as you can see the first are out there.
If you like to share I have some very good ideas on some features, some never made before.
the only thing I disagree here is the one day training and go make money tomorrow thing.
That is not how it works, but defenatly after practice yes.
Take care

Leigh,

I have seen your demo video and I think it's great! I am very intersted in this product. If I could shoot videos like that demo I might be able to get a job working as an operator. Please show a pic or something here in the forum as I'm sure everyone would be very interested. If you haven't seen Leigh's video check it out here:

Michael, which demo video were you looking at?

(Just to kinda clarify what I was meaning by this, I know that Leigh's system is good, but his operating still is coming along, I wanted to see what Michael saw, because it might help me, or help me help someone with their system later on.)

Tom,

Could you please explain to me how you know ,"that Leigh's system is good, but his operating still is coming along?"

And Tom, can't you see the link in my previous post? Just click on the sentence that starts with "http://" and watch the first *.mov file on top.
