Modifications to the arm
« on: October 11, 2005, 03:43:53 PM »

Hello cody. i just got your book. Have spent a whole evening converting stuff to metric Smiley But there is wonder about.. The measurements in the book. is it up to date with your arm? i read that you made it longer and wider. and where going for stronger  springs.

annyhow.. if it isn't in the book. what have you changed? and how does it affect the function of the arm?

soon to build myself one..

Greetings
/Micke T

Great drawings by the way!

The plans you have are current.  I am still testing the modified arm and have some changes to make to it.  It is designed for heavier loads.

Hey Cody

Just curious if you have begun a revision of your second book? I think I have a school that will do the machining for me provided that I provide enough stock material for them to build two units. I can't pass this up.

I am still waiting on my last parts so that the arm can connect to my vest.  Once that's done, I can do a full test on the arm and make sure it functions well before finalizing the plans.  I will then be able to give specs on how much weight it can manage and look for any trouble spots that may need addressing.  I'm hoping within the next two weeks it will be done.

OK. soon i have to make my bones to my arm and some info on how your mods worked would be nice.

You did move up the point where the spring attaches to the bone. did that improve anything?

heavier springs?

I'm thinking about making my bones from an u-profile. i think that will help torquing in the lower arm.
