Nice review, very thorough. Although I'm far from being in the market for a commercial rig, this review gave me a lot of good points to think about while building my second one. Thanks, Charles!

Great review Charles. Can not add anything extra on this one. Have flown about a total of 20 minutes with the Rig last friday & monday.. so I can just underscribe your story completely.

No problem Brul. Your thoughts will probably be different but that's good because it means every operator or indivdual have different views on the same thing. That's why ther are so many choices of stabilizers out there. Everybody has different needs.

Great great review. This is really the first time where a thorough description of the V-25 is available, thanks to Charles. I was surprised to see the they finally added some kind of adjustment mechanism for the arm-to-vest connector. For a while, I was considering investing in a "semi-pro" rig. Now that I know more about it, I'm considering investing in a V-25. I mainly operates DSR-300 cameras, so it could be a great choice.
Are they still talking about $7K price tag ?

Are they still talking about $7K price tag ? Eric Around 8000 euros, that should be right if the exchange rate hasn't changed. THey will be offering the rig for that price until they have sold 100 ubits. After that the price will jump to 10,000 euros. They've already sold 35 units already. Maybe a little more since the Expo. So get it while the price is good.

Well, i just received my own V25 and finally had the time for a long test drive. I posted this already on the steadiforum, here is a copy of it.
Well, i had my test day today with the just received V25. I tried the Flyer on the IBC and didn't had the change to test the V25. Mostly because i was flying my own Gold rig there, but also becose of Pascal. (He didn't want to let go of it) So after unpacking the stuff, i noticed that dockingbracket. HUGE improvement with the demo one. Easy for balance too. The only camera i had here was the Sony BVW 400 with an old heavy wide angle lens. I use AB for my gold so i used 3 on the rig. One behind Monitor and the other two on the rig. The arm had to be on 4 and you can go to 5 and a halve. DAMN, that arm is smoooooooth. Easy to keep it on level, very little force for booming up and down. I even did te slow creepy shots with no problem. Its not a big rig, but very very impressive. I changed the monitorbracket to the lowersection of the post. No problems there either. To be honest, i don't feel any difference with the flyer i flew on the ibc. So i don't understand all the hassle about it. This rig is a knock out. Te only thing i am gonna change in the future is the socketblock option, but thats only because of being used to my own vest. That little J-box is great. Plenty of options there. The gimbal?, well, its the baby gold i would say. Easy dynamic balance, smooth and even under fully load i don't feel differences. The vest could use an extra padding in the lower section, thats something i am gonna change probably.

I know you meant to spell my name like this Charles and not Charce. When I tested the V25 it was fully assembled but I don't think it would be that difficult. Maybe Job can verify this for you. You can fly any camera up to 13kg with this system. Even today smaller 16mm film cameras are a breeze.
