I haven't had any luck finding a source for the bearings specified in the new plans. Do you have any "regular sources" that you use? I'd prefer online sources if you have them.
Luckily I can get the Century springs locally (yay!).
Thanks,
Russ

QBC has them. But you have to call. I've yet to find a good online bearing shop that takes orders "online".

I am having trouble searching for the right bearings. Does anyone have the stock Number for the bearings on the new plans? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

I have heard that QBC is now accepting orders online. Here is a part # for the bearings:

Cody, what specific style of bearings are these? Are they a standard ball, or are they a thrust, roller, etc?
Thanks,
Russ

Just click on list view and you will see the various sized bearings they have to offer. just look for the bearings I purchased and you can't go wrong. Don't forget to check your bearing count. Cody's plans list 22, but the total count calls for 32. I think it is just a misprint on Cafe Express's part or something. No biggie.

Thanks for the pointer! I couldn't find them on QBC's web site. In Cody's plans, he specifies R4R5 @ .250 x .625 x .195 On eBay those are listed as R4R2S .250 x .625 x .196 Will that cause any major issues? The price is sure good. I might need to buy upwards of 64 of them, depending on if my friend is still interested in building an arm as well. Thanks again! Russ

No it should not cause any major problems. It is only .001 of an inch.

That last number is the thickness of the bearing. So you probably have much more tolerance on that measurement anyway.

Of course I figured all that out, logically, AFTER I asked the stupid question. Someday I'll learn to stop doing that. Ordered a bulk set of 100, so I should have a few spares. Thanks again for the link Cedrick! Russ

Nice, I emailed them to see if they had them in r4r5 and whether or not we can specify ABEC ratings. I'd guess my only concern would be precision and quality of these bearings.

I would be very leary of purchasing bearing without an ABEC raiting. You probably dont need 7s or 9s but 5s are very high quality and 3s at least have some standard for quality control.
