Where can i find the correct springs
« on: February 22, 2006, 01:48:53 PM »

Hello,

I am working on the plans for the low budget version of Cody's stabilizer arm.  It's coming along...I think I will be finished in a week or so.  I was having trouble finding a resource for the springs it suggests in the book.  I found a place down the rroad (Jones Spring Co.) that can custom make the springs i need, but they want $15 dollars a piece for them.  I guess it's because i need such a small quantity.  Does anyone out there know where to order the ones listed in the plans?...

Music Wire Extension Springs
4.5" overall length x 0.75" width with 0.075", 0.085", 0.093", and 0.105" wire diameters.

Any help appreciated...Thanks

Hey David,

The place is actually called the W. B. Jones Spring Company...

check out their website:

http://www.springsfast.com/

They have a pretty good quote page...you can put in all the different specs for the springs you want...even different finish options.  They got back to me with a quote within 24hrs.  They seem to be pretty good for custom stuff.

They ship anywhere....The $15/spring quote was for an order of 4 springs.  They get cheaper the more you order.

I actually found the answer to my post under the "Cody's Arm-phase I" topic.  Looks like for the low budget arm, the correct springs are at Lowe's.
