CodyCam Style Arm on eBay
« on: September 01, 2005, 09:47:10 PM »

This guy is selling a Codycam style arm on eBay. But the vest is rather unique. But it looks difficult to adjust while wearing it. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/M516-Arm-Vest-not-Glidecam-Steadicam-FX1-XL2-Dvx100a_W0QQitemZ7542232628QQcategoryZ3319QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Hey Mikko I don't quite understand whom the statement you made is directed toward. I have never responded to any of your posts or any other members posts in any derogatory manner. If your statement was directed toward me I don't have a response for it.
Oh not this a@@hole again.

No, not at you, at the guy who's selling those things. He has some... unuasual buisness tactics, to put it mildly. His videos were smoothed out using After Effects, he himself came onto the board, posing as someone who bought one of the rigs and loved it, tried to use this board for advertizing, and was overall just a bad person. His product isn't that great either, certainly nothing to get excited about, considering how he runs his buisness.

Thank you for clarifying that for me Tom. For a second I thought I had ticked someone off.

No problem Cedric.

It's really a shame, because this guy really could have a good thing going, if only he weren't a slimeball in terms of buisness. I mean, his 20 positive feedback are all from when he bought things, but no, he won't tell you that. He keeps still using that same smoothed video, and not telling people it's fake, and I'm pretty sure he's on DVXUser (I seem to remember seeing his typical "I'm a satisfied customer" there too)

Seeing what these people do makes you really think about how good some manufacturers are. I mean, the idea of just getting a product description, some pictures, maybe a video or two, and knowing they're real is a great thing. Knowing that you're not being sold products based on lies, based on deception, that's just plain comforting. A shame we can't always have it this way.

Sorry everyone, especially Cedric..   ..i guess i flared up a little there.  (though in my oppinon, not uncalled for)

No that was DEFINATLY not at anyone here...  it was directed at the guy making/selling that thing.

Tom preaty much explained the problem with him.  ...he's also pulled the same 'stunt' on DVinfo.net and steadicamforum.com

..Not much else to say really, other than once more my apologies to everyone here.

Thanks Mikko. There was no problem. I just wanted to know what the problem was. I am glad to know about that guy's business practices. I had placed a bid on one of his vest and arms but was outbid. I am sure glad that I did not rebid on it. And after I looked at the a bit closer I realized that it was not that supportive. Now I know why he did not put any clear and closeup pics of the arm.

Thanks for the explanation Mikko and Tom.
