Cody - elbow is 2.5, but...
« on: August 30, 2005, 02:13:01 PM »

I am working out the angle brackets for the Elbow to be held in place with.   The width of the elbow is 2.5 inches.  And the two angle brackets at 1 9/16 + 1 9/16 respectively.  This in effect is alot larger by 10/16 (or more than an inch and a 1/2 than the span of the elbow.  Therefore :

There is a gap that it can move up and down.  I looked at some of the pictures of rigs designed like yours and from your book and they do not seem to have the gap.  Am I missing something?

Subtract 1/2" from your measurement.  You're adding the thickness of the steel to your calculation.
