The last I have heard is the email chris walker got from lenny on the 03-Aug-2006

Chris did you get your rig ??

EMAIL FROM len goldstein

Quote "

no, we haven't closed down.  i think the lack of communication is my fault
and not nate's.  i had a surgery, as i think you knew, and it went well, but
the rehab went sideways and i wound up back in the hospital for an extended
stay and then back out again to rehab.  in the meantime, i kept telling nate
to send me any contacts and i would respond.  i wanted to help him out,
since the pressure was on again, but this time i wasn't able to follow
through as i planned even as i was telling him otherwise.

anyway, that period is over.  the good news is that not only are we still in
operation (at least that may be good news for a few), but that we have made
a great deal of progress in finally securing the financing we need to retool
and buy enough stock to manufacture rigs in advance of orders, thus cutting
delivery time way down.  we have to do this in order to compete and it well
help us keep our prices reasonable and below the inflation ones that some
manufacturers seem to be charging.  mind you, we don't dislike profit, but
we do not believe in gouging a customer and we will not jack our prices just
to convince people that our product is as good as others on the market
because it costs as much.  it is unfortunate, but some potential buyers
believe this to be true--that price equals quality--and there is not much we
can do about it but continue to produce our rigs at a fair and equitable
price.

of course, we are just at the initial stages of our planned changes and it
will take some time for the money to flow to us and out to our suppliers,
but according to what we've been told, we should see it begin within 30-40
days.  in the meantime, we have obtained some interim funding that will
allow us to at least start satisfying new customers and finish off the
back-orders as soon as possible.

i know that you've may have heard some of this before, so i don't expect you
to accept what i say at face value.  we will, however, live up to our
commitments and eventually our customers will come to know the value of
having us in business.  as a side note, it appears that there were 12-13
more back-orders than the 22 that were anticipated.  this discrepancy has
contributed to the delay in completing construction of these rigs simply
because we need to suspend operations in that area for a short while in
order to generate income.  the discrepancy was not intentional, at least
that is what we believe, but the result of sloppy record keeping by john or
for other reasons that are not necessary to discuss at this moment.

so, there is is.  i've probably have told you more than you wanted to hear,
but you deserved a complete explanation of why it has taken so long to
finish your rig.  i am concerned that there are still some customers who
will have to wait a few weeks to a few months for their back-orders, but
there is nothing we can do about it.  i will be contacting them now that i
am upright and able to function in a manner that benefits both the business
and our customers.

obviously, you have been in contact with others who are interested in the
state of the business.  please feel free to pass on the information
contained in this email or give them my email address and i will contact
them if they contact me.  in the meantime, your rig will go out tomorrow.  i
will write you with the tracking number is there is on.  i hope you enjoy
using it and let me know if there are any problems that we need to address.
i know that somewhere along the line, i made an offer on behalf of
animagique concerning the pricing on a subsequent purchase by you.  that
offer still stands, as do any other representations that i have made in this
area.

again, thank you for your patience and understanding.

ps.  there is a good possibility that we will be expanding our product line
in the near future sometime after the funding becomes available.  these new
products will not necessarily be associated with the industry that utilizes
our present products, but will appeal to a broader scope of individuals who
have specialized needs.  if you are interested, i'll tell you more as we get
closer to this change.

Sounds nice and all, but...  Sad I wonder how many of these letters did he actualluy sent to those customers still waiting for their rigs? I think they should not have accepted any money from these customers if they new the situation they where in already.

Well, enough talk. Let's see some action. Words mean nothing if they can back it up.

Yes I am inside the US and I too have had bad experiences buying things from other countries. I was not happy waiting 5 months, but the produce is as described.

Interesting thing,  I still don't have the Stand Mount Holder for the SLED (Anyone want to sell one)

The WEB SITE is down and the phone has been disconnected.

I would assume they are out of business.

If anyone can send me some real clean pictures of the Mount for the SLED on the C-Stand so I might be able to make one.

Thanks

Stan

this is all I have at the moment, If you need sizes let me know.

click for big pic^^^

The main problem with this rig is the soft copper plumbing fitting and silicone holding the bearings in .. My xl2 hit the ground when the bearings fell out, Nate said sorry to me and then told me this has happend before and is a problem with johns design and that he is working out a way to fix it..

Thanks Jamie,

Where is this brass component located, maybe we can make a part to replace it.

Anyone on the board have an extra C-Stand mount they would like to sell before I try and make one.

I had someone go by the Magiqcam loaction and there is no signs of anyone being there anymore.

I have some friends at the US Postal Inspection Service looking into criminal aspects of the operation since they shipped via US Postal Service all the time.  They should not have lied to people and kept the money, all they had to do is say they were going out of business and would return all the funds, but now it looks like they might see jail time.

What a way to run a business.

I am pretty sure that they are gone and trying to run with whatever money they got, there is no way in hell that any finacial institution would not find out about the reputation of the buisness before they would give them the funding, and since they have done this for years and Nate and his father are basically new owners, nobody with money in their right mind is just going to fork it over to them! I really doubt that Lenny is half the "buisnessman" he sells himself as, since there is no way that any buisness (other than enron) could operate like this for any length of time.

I did finnally recieve my rig after 10 months and 16 days, but it was basically a piece of crap! the internal wiring in the post was faulty, the bearing problem in the arm attach to the gimbal was questionalble at best and the craftsmanship on the vest was pathetic (looked like it was sewn by a drunk person). the tolerances on the arm drove me to insanity, and the list goes on.

I have two rigs now and I cant think of a single good thing when it comes to the magicam!

with the website gone and nate and lenny not responding to anyone I think it is time for those that are still waiting to realize the freud that has occured. I have no problems telling the truth of the crap they put me through! if they want to sue me for liable let them try! I have every email and correspondence that occured during that 10 months, and I am more than ready to deal with them in court!

For the record, my rig finnally arrived when myself and another from this board started to work together, and I went to a lawyer that is bared in both oregon and california. once I took his advice and cited the actual revised statues and showed clearly that Nate and Lenny were both as legally responsible as John (since they never declared it as under new ownership, they tried the new management approach, and even went so far as to indicate that nothing was wrong with the company and even declared that they were going to honor the outstanding orders therby taking responsibility real or implied). my rig magically (no pun intended) appeared, but not with the promised low dog mode kit that was supposidly being thrown in to make up for my wait (not that it would have been any better craftmanship than the rest of the rig).

I hurt for everyone that has gotten sucked into this crap, esspecially those that cannot simply afford to purchase another functional rig! I am damn tired of people on this board playing about the subject instead of just saying that animagique is a lousy buisness! stop being politically correct and let others that may potentially get suckered into this know the damn truth!
