Wait time for Magiqcam IIp
« on: August 19, 2005, 08:04:16 PM »

Those of you whom have bought your magiqcams... Did you have to wait more than 3-4 weeks for your order? What do you think of your rig?

Thanks Undecided

Oh boy. I think Ed can tell you lots of stories but then again there are others. Have you tried the DVinfo.net forum? They have many users who have bought the product.

I believe that Animagique has added more people to their shop and the wait time is down significantly. In fact I have read about people that have had their orders delivered to their door within 2-3 days. Like any small production business it all depends on how many orders come in on a given week. Just pick up the phone and ask John or Kelly how long it will take. They'll give you a straight answer. Their number is 530.872.7647.

I just wanted to post a similar question. After reading several customer reviews/postings I went for the MagicCam and ordered one in the beginning of June this year. The contact (via email) was very friendly and everything seemed fine - paid via PayPal. They said it would take a good 4 weeks until they could ship it. However I haven't heard from them since back then! :-/
I sent them several emails but didn't get a reply until now. And it has been a good 12 weeks now since I ordered/payed the for the unit! :-(
Anyone here recently ordered one or had some form of contact with the MagicCam folks?
Don't want to bad mouth them or anything but 2k USD isn't that little money for me so...
Of course I heard that sometimes it really took a lot of time for some orders to be shipped... what do you guys think?!

Cheers,

hi soren,
i actually don't want to make any comment on this issue. i also don't like being call "the one" who bad mouth them. from experience, i would get a respond from them when i post on this forum or at dvinfo forum. another way is to send them a mail through thier ebay listing. good luck.

thanks ed!
after two, three emails i tried the ebay way too however i didn't get a reply there as well... so this is now the "forum way" to get in touch i guess... ;-)
i really hope it's just a little more time needed and nothing other horrible thing (eg. shipment disappeared or something) :-(
we'll see... of course it would be the worst case to spend 2k "for nothing"...

cheers,

Soeren, I know Animagique has been having trouble with their website and email from personal experience I think most of that has just been worked out in the last few days. If you have'nt already try animagique@sbcglobal.net as a contact address. I also notice that your in Germany which may very well have a lot to do with the delay. Good luck and godspeed.

We two waited a long time for our rig to arrive (Australia) but when it did it was worth the wait.

We telephoned them at one stage and found out that they were waiting on componants.

Anamagique could use better customer service, but rest assusred your order will eventually be filled.

Thanks Kevin! Didn't know about their email trouble. Regarding their customer service.. well in the beginning it was absolutely great - that's why I was so irritated not hearing anything from them anymore. Wouldn't have been the first time for such a small business to be "gone" etc. ... but your kind words here did calm me down again - thx! ;-) .. btw. great forum/website!!!

Thanks! Hm well... no reply so far on any of my emails or ebay notifications that I sent! :-((
They just seem to "ignore" me!
Guess I'll give 'em a call via phone... so the number on their site is still valid I guess/hope?!

This is really getting kind of frustrating...  Cry

Soeren, the number I have for them is (530) 872-7647. I understand your frustration. I know they are hard to get in touch with at times. I've had the same problem on occasion. I would try to give them a call.

I ordered a Magiqcam 2a in August (5 weeks now) and have email John a coupels off times, and he did answer all my email in 2-3 days.

My rig will ship one off the nearest days, but i could inform you when i got tracking order.

I have been waiting for this thing for 8 weeks now. Getting a bit tired of it. If they only could be a bit more specific on their shipping dates.  Sad
