Nobody's upset with you but it's one of the rules here at THBSG to post your real name. "privacy issues" could be translated into "I've got something to hide" Anyway buy Cody's book, it is a well illustrated, comprehensive manual that will show you how to make a great stabilizer.
Does that go for all of his stabalizer books? I am interested in, the low-budget route, Camera Stabalizer Plans. Does this book also include how to make a low-budget vest and arm as well as the stabalizer itself?
Thanks Charles. I was reading one of the other posts and it didn't really come out clear to me, but I was wondering what is the cheapest I could come out building the full rig from Cody's book. I saw, and obviously knew, that the more you put into it or the fancier you make it the more it will cost, leading up to a couple thousand dollars. Is about $400 the cheapest?
My personal opinion is that a vest does not have to any fancy. The important thing to remember is to get the vest to fit well and sturdy enough to support the sled without bucking under weight. Depending wheather you're building a front mount or a front vest it is important to remember these points. Thr back mount is a little more tricky than a front mount due to the shape and form of the back. I would love to go over to a back mount but I would rather buy one than build it. A front mount on the other hand, is much different.
