Hey Cody! I'm just about done with the sled. I hope to have pictures up in the next week or so. Does it matter whether the clamp to hold the gimbal on the sled is up or down? I noticed yours is up (closer to the stage) but that on most rigs it is down (closer to the battery and monitor). I tried it both ways and it feels more comfortable to me in the down position. One other thing, between the gimbal clamp and the pan bearing, I added a cut down piece of the monopod grip material. This made the shaft a good 1/4" larger in diameter. I have fairly large hands and this gives me a better grip. It also adds a positve gripping surface particularly if your fingers are moist. Like after sweating carrying this sucker! I'll be glad when I get the arm and vest done!

The main reason I have my gimbal sleeve up is gravity. Although the bearing collar is secured fairly well on mine, I always had a fear of the bearing slipping off the sleeve. So to prevent this from happening, I place the sleeve up. That way gravity is always pulling the sleeve into the bearing, whereas it would be pulling away if the sleeve were facing down. It's just a saftey issue.
